Several publishing firms representing 50 cent him self as well as other well known musicians is seeking up to $120,000 in copyright infringment damages from the Mayflower Street night club for performing In Da Club, Get Busy, Tipsy and Number One without permission.

Despite numerous letters and other contacts by ASCAP representatives … defendants have continued to perform copyrighted music without permission, lawyer Virginia Roddy writes.

This isn’t the first time SoGo has had legal difficulties this year.

Columbia Sussex Corp. the company that owns the “Belle of Baton Rouge” and the atrium adjoining the downtown Sheraton Hotel where SoGo is located — attempted to have a state district judge to evict SoGo Live from its location.
